Abstract
To explore a safe and effective anesthesia protocol for Ursus arctos pruinosus,and to provide reliable and effective chemical immobilization techniques for their rescue,rehabilitation,and medical examinations,this study employed a combination of Zoletil(dexmedetomidine/zolazepam)and Xylazine hydrochloride.The compound drug was administered via intramuscular injection to six healthy adult captive Ursus arctos pruinosus at the Xining Wildlife Park.The analgesic,sedative,and muscle relaxation effects were observed and scored after anesthesia,and the duration of each phase was monitored and analyzed.Additionally,post-anesthesia monitoring included measurements of body temperature,heart rate,and blood oxygen saturation in the Ursus arctos pruinosus.The results showed that the anesthetic effect of Shutai combined with xylazine hydrochloride on Ursus arctos pruinosus was stable and effective,with rapid anesthesia,longer anesthesia maintenance time,faster recovery,and stable data of sedation,analgesia and muscle relaxation.This research indicates that the combined anesthetic regimen of Shu Tai and sevoflurane hydrochloride is scientifically reasonable,stable,and reliable for use on Ursus arctos pruinosus,which can provide better sedation effects for the feeding management,diagnosis,treatment,and rescue of Ursus arctos pruinosus,and offer a reliable technical solution for addressing human-bear conflict issues.关键词
