The Pathogenicity of Riemerella anatipestifer with Different Serotypes to SPF Chickens
摘要
Abstract
Riemerella anatipestifer(RA)mainly infects ducklings,while there are few studies on relevant infection in chickens.In order to identify the pathogenicity of RA to chickens,pure RA strains of 5 serotypes were selected and injected intramuscularly into 21-day-old specific pathogen free(SPF)chickens to observe their clinical symptoms and organ lesions.The results showed that RA serotypes 2,6 and 7 were strongly pathogenic to SPF chickens,leading to clinical symptoms such as lethargy,ruffled feathers,recumbency,and even death.Obvious pericarditis and perihepatic lesions were observed through post-mortem examination,and corresponding strains could be re-isolated in the lesions.In conclusion,RA derived of ducks was strongly pathogenic to SPF chickens.Early warning of the risk of RA transmission in chicken flocks was issued,providing a reference for future prevention and control of the disease.关键词
