Research Progress of Monkeypox and Other Human Orthopoxviruses
摘要
Abstract
Many orthopoxviruses such as monkeypox can cause smallpox zoonosis.The orthopoxvirus infection has steadily vanished after the smallpox virus was eradicated in 1980.Nevertheless,given that the monkeypox pandemic was classified as a"public health emergency of worldwide significance"by the World Health Organization in July 2022,it is crucial to conduct an immediate investigation of the prevalence of monkeypox-related viruses.In order to gather background information for the present prevention and management of the monkeypox pandemic,this article provided an overview of the discovery of the human orthopoxvirus,prospective hosts,host range genes,and essential treatment involved in the infection process.关键词
