Abstract

To clarify the current status of rice yield differences in Hunan Province and explore the causes of these differences,a questionnaire survey on rice production in 2022 was conducted among the field technology leaders of rice planting entities in 26 counties(county-level cities,districts)of 14 prefectures(cities)in Hunan Province,and 562 valid questionnaires and related statistical data were analyzed.The yield per unit area of early,middle and late rice varieties in large-scale production was 13.5%~18.0%lower than that in regional trials and 28.0%~31.1%lower than that in high-yield demonstration.In addition,the yield per unit area varied with different technological(including variety)conditions,different ecological conditions and different soil and water conditions.The weight ranking of the main factors affecting rice yield was technological factors(0.598)>soil factors(0.326)>climatic factors(0.076)in the grey relational analysis.The main causes of yield differences included low coverage of high-yield varieties,insufficient application of high-yield technologies,aging of water conservancy infrastructures,poor overall quality of cultivated land,uneven quality of business management entities,weakened enthusiasm for growing rice and frequent occurrence of catastrophic weather.In response to the above issues,measures have been proposed to further improve rice yield per unit area,including strengthening the research on super high-quality hybrid rice,promoting the cultivation of green,high-quality and high-yield varieties,promoting key technologies for increasing yield and reducing losses,strengthening farmland infrastructure construction,accelerating the research and development of new practical agricultural machinery,comprehensively promoting moderate-scale operation,providing full-process socialized services,focusing on improving the quality of rice growers,building a precise subsidy mechanism for grain production and vigorously establishing yield improvement models.
