QTL Mapping of the Characteristics of Early Maturity,Lodging Resistance and Delayed Senescence in Rice Maintainer Line Rongfeng B

Abstract
Using the maintainer line Rongfeng B,the restorer line R3 of three-line hybrid rice and a segregating population composed of 150 F2∶3 generation lines constructed from their hybridization as materials,RAD-seq sequencing and linkage map construction were carried out.Phenotypic analysis and QTL mapping were conducted on the indices such as the number of days from sowing to heading,the single-culm lodging resistance and the SPAD value of the flag leaf after heading of Rongfeng B and its genetic populations.The results indicated that Rongfeng B exhibited significantly earlier maturity,shorter stature and stronger single-culm lodging resistance than R3,and the decrease in the SPAD value of the flag leaf from the heading stage to maturity stage was significantly slowed down in Rongfeng B,which delayed the senescence of the functional leaves in the later stages.The QTL mapping identified three QTLs controlling the heading stage,six QTLs controlling the SPAD value of the flag leaf after heading,three QTLs controlling plant height and two QTLs controlling the single-culm lodging resistance.Among them,qHD5 and qHD7 were identified as the major genes responsible for early maturity in Rongfeng B;qCHLD3,qCHLD5 and qCHLD7.2 were the key genes for the delayed senescence of the flag leaf from heading to maturity in Rongfeng B;and qPH6,qPH7,qLR5 and qLR10 were the key genes for the short stature and strong single-culm lodging resistance of Rongfeng B.These QTL loci have important application potential in breeding.关键词
