Analysis of digital input thresholds and interference resistance methods for DCS in thermal power plants

Abstract
To ensure stable operation of thermal power plants and reduce false transitions caused by signal interfer-ence in digital input(DI)channels,this paper investigates the rationality of DI thresholds in distributed control sys-tems(DCS)currently in service.Through field measurements of DI thresholds and noise margins in 16 operational DCS units,it is identified that some systems exhibit poor interference resistance performance due to insufficient noise margins in their DI channels.A recommended range for noise margins is proposed accordingly.To address this issue,an enhanced interference resistance method,using analog and digital filtering,for the system is proposed.The method maintains channel stability even when DI signals are subjected to strong AC interference voltages.Fi-nally,based on field test data,it is recommended that noise margin measurements should be conducted for DI chan-nels prior to DCS commissioning,and interference resistance methods should be appropriately implemented accord-ing to the established tolerance ranges.关键词
