Simulation and microstructure properties study of warm roller hot rolling process for Ti/TiAl composite plates

Abstract
The hot rolling process of Ti/TiAl composite plates was simulated using electromagnetic induction heating device and Abaqus finite element simulation software,and Ti/TiAl composite plates with dimensions of 120 mm×75 mm×2.5 mm were produced.The microstructure and mechanical properties of Ti/TiAl composite plates were analyzed under the warm rolling process.The results show that compared with the traditional room temperature rolling process,the temperature dissipation of the plate during the rolling process is significantly reduced in the warm roller hot rolling process,narrowing the equivalent strain gap between TiAl alloy and Ti alloy,making the thermoplastic deformation more coordinated,and helping to improve the overall quality and yield of Ti/TiAl composite plate.In the warm roller hot-rolling Ti/TiAl composite plate,metallurgical bonding is formed between TiAl alloy and Ti alloy through element diffusion,and there is an intermediate layer composed of α/α 2 phase and β/B2 phase in the interface area,with a thickness of about 100 μm.The room temperature tensile strength of the Ti/TiAl composite plate produced by warm roller hot rolling process is 607.8 MPa,and its tensile strain of 0.99%.The Vickers hardness of TiAl alloy matrix is significantly higher than that of both the Ti alloy matrix and the intermediate layer.The warm roller hot rolling process is of great significance in improving the comprehensive mechanical properties of Ti/TiAl composite plates.关键词
