Abstract

Skill-oriented colleges,as a distinct higher education category alongside research-oriented and application-oriented colleges,have been formally established,marking the evolution of China's higher education classification system into a new tripartite synergy of"academic-application-skill".Through comparative analysis of vocational education models in Germany,Australia,the United States,and other countries,combined with the developmental trajectory of China's vocational education,it is revealed that the emergence and evolution of skill-oriented colleges are rooted in 3 forces:the exogenous driving force of industrial transformation demands,the endogenous dynamics of educational system classification,and the adaptive tension arising from the individual growth needs of skilled talents.Different from research-oriented colleges and application-oriented colleges,skill-oriented colleges take vocational skills as the logical starting point,and cultivate high-skilled talents who can directly serve the front line of the industry through deep integration of industry and education.They have three core characteristics:occupation orientation,industry-education integration and technological iteration.To promote the construction of skill-oriented colleges,it is necessary to fully base on the categorical positioning of vocational education,strengthen top-level government design and policy support,enhance the strength of university education,and also require diversified social support.
