The Transformation of Knowledge Production in Chinese Social Work Professional Relationships:Indigenous Practice and Empirical Examination of Cultural Humility

Abstract
Cultural humility is deeply rooted in traditional Chinese ethical thought and consistently shapes the construction of local social relationships.Although the Cultural Humility Scale(CHS)was first developed and applied in Western social work contexts,empirical testing in the Chinese context reveals that social workers demonstrate higher levels of cultural humility in elder care than Western norms.This phenomenon aligns closely with the ethical traditions of Chinese culture.Hierarchical regression analysis indicates that cultural humility significantly predicts the quality of professional relationships,highlighting the contemporary relevance of traditional Chinese culture in professional practice.The study underscores the long-standing reliance of Chinese social work on Western theoretical frameworks to interpret local experiences,revealing a lack of culturally grounded theoretical innovation.It calls for a dual reconstruction of practice and theory to distill indigenous knowledge and practical wisdom from the Chinese context.Such an approach could foster a transformative shift in knowledge production around professional relationships in social work,thereby affirming theoretical confidence and revitalizing practice within the field.关键词
