Improvement effect of auricular point acupressure therapy on weight indicators in children with simple obesity
摘要
Abstract
Objective To observe the effect of auricular point acupressure using intradermal needles on improving weight-related indicators in children with simple obesity. Methods A total of 102 children with simple obesity who visited the traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)weight management clinic at Beijing Children's Hospital,Capital Medical University, between April and September 2024 were included.Based on the principles of syndrome differentiation and nursing in TCM,auricular point acupressure therapy using intradermal needles was applied.Body weight was measured, and body mass index(BMI)was calculated before the intervention and after 3 months of treatment.Fat percentage, muscle mass, and basal metabolic rate were assessed using the InBody770 body composition analyzer. After 3 months of intervention,a satisfaction survey was conducted using a structured outpatient satisfaction questionnaire to evaluate parents'satisfaction with the clinical environment, visit process, service quality, and service attitude. Results After the intervention, body weight,BMI,and fat percentage were significantly lower than those before the intervention, while muscle mass and basal metabolic rate were significantly higher(P<0.05).Parental satisfaction with the clinical environment was 99.01%,and satisfaction with the visit process, service quality, and service attitude all reached 100%.Conclusion Auricular point acupressure therapy is effective in improving weight-related indicators in children with simple obesity and is associated with a high level of parental satisfaction.关键词
