Integration of Subjective and Objective Information for Determining Optimal Timing of Preventive Maintenance in Expressway Asphalt Pavements

Abstract
To maximize the economic benefits and maintenance effectiveness of preventive maintenance measures for expressway asphalt pavements,this paper proposes a two-stage decision-making framework for determining the optimal timing of preventive maintenance.The framework first identifies an appropriate maintenance window based on the technical condition and distress characteristics of the asphalt pavement.Subsequently,the window is divided into discrete time intervals,and evaluation indicators,including budget constraints,construction climate conditions,and performance degradation gradients,are selected to establish an evaluation matrix.Finally,by integrating combined subjective and objective evaluation methods to calculate indicator weights,the Euclidean distance spatial metric criterion is applied to measure the distance between actual evaluation points and the ideal point at each interval.This process enables the selection of the optimal preventive maintenance timing.关键词
