Abstract
Gas consumption in China's urban gas sector continues to rise,surpassing 210 billion cubic meters in 2023,with a serviced population of nearly 570 million.The gasification rate in economically developed coastal regions is significantly higher than that in central and western areas.Industry concentration is gradually increasing and seven major urban gas companies including ENN Group Co.,Ltd are accounting for over three-quarters of terminal retail sales.Driven by the"dual carbon"goals,China's urban gas industry is undergoing profound transitions.The sector's development is propelled by multiple factors,which means the Energy Law and the establishment of a unified market promote fair competition and standardized industry development by dismantling monopolies and refining market mechanisms,the basic conditions of the population and the economy,coupled with the digital economy and the green transition,are consolidating the gas market and expanding demand potential,and technological advancements are enhancing operational efficiency and safety standards within the industry firstly,the industry faces multiple challenges and intensifies competition including tighter regulations on pricing,safety,and antitrust measures constrain profit margins,carbon neutrality commitments accelerating energy transitions,such emerging energy sources as electricity and hydrogen are progressively encroaching on market share secondly,and China's town gas industry will be characterized by"growth slowdown,leading enterprises gathering,digital shift,and strengthening regulation"in the future finally.关键词
