Abstract
Following the disintegration of Hegelian metaphysics, both Marx and Proudhon independently seized upon the concepts of"contradiction"and"labor,"seeking to advance philosophical revolution by introducing dialectics into the a-nalysis of material life in order to unify logic with history(or reason with experience).Their competing answers along the same trajectory of"contradiction-labor-dialectics"imply that if Marx's philosophy constitutes a new philosophy, then, logically,Proudhon's philosophy necessarily forms the final metaphysics. That is to say,for Marx, the"poverty of philoso-phy"is the complete exposure of metaphysics in its"final effort"at self-redemption:no matter how contradiction provides the theoretical driving mechanism, labor furnishes the material foundation, and dialectics offers the explanatory tool,as long as one remains confined within the bounds of metaphysics,a true philosophical revolution is impossible. Therefore, the new philosophy must be anti-metaphysical.From this perspective,Marx's contribution lies in advancing philosophy from the experience-reason structure toward a history-praxis pathway, while the significance of Proudhon's work is that, through the ultimate ineffectiveness of his"final effort,"it provides a compelling counter-evidence of the legitimacy of Ma-rx's new philosophy. On this basis,it is necessary to reassess the philosophical-historical significance of their relation-ship.关键词
