摘要

Abstract

With the acceleration of sheep farming intensification and improved varieties extension,the diversity of genetic resources has been being threatened and lost at an accelerated rate,which urges the efficient semen preservation techniques for the long-term preservation of genetic materials.During the freezing process of semen,ice crystal formation and oxidative damage would significantly reduce the viability of spermatozoa after thawing,which has become a key bottleneck limiting the popularization and application of frozen-thawed semen.From the perspective of core problems in sheep semen cryopreservation,this paper systematically investigates the molecular mechanism of cryopreservation damage,comprehensively compares the applicability and limitations of the existing assessment tools,summarizes the technical progress of the current conservation strategy,and outlook on the future direction of technological development.The aim of this paper is to provide a theoretical reference for improving the techniques of sheep semen cryopreservation,and suggesting feasible paths for genetic improvement and germplasm resources conservation in modern sheep breeding.
