Measurement method for thermal conductivity and specific heat of submillimeter-sized low thermal conductivity materials

Abstract
A square pulse heat source method(SPS)based on optical thermal reflection was proposed for simultaneous determination of thermal conductivity and specific heat capacity of sub-millimeter-sized samples.By applying a square-pulse heat source and monitoring the temperature response on the sample surface in real time,high-precision characterization of thermal properties was achieved,with a thermal conductivity measurement range covering 0.2 W/(m∙K)to 2 000 W/(m∙K).To validate the feasibility and accuracy of the method,polymethyl methacrylate(PMMA)was used as a standard sample for systematic experimental measurements and data analysis.The results show that the measured thermal conductivity of PMMA is 0.19 W/(m∙K),and the specific heat capacity is 1.644 J/(cm³∙K).The strong agreement between the measured results and literature values fully demonstrates the high accuracy and reliability of the proposed method.This study provides an efficient and accurate measurement tool for thermal property research on small-sized,low-thermal-conductivity materials.关键词
