Abstract

To investigate the internal noise mechanism of a centrifugal pump under gas-liquid two-phase flow conditions,a numerical simulation method combining computational fluid dynamics(CFD)and computational acoustics(CA)was employed.The MUSIG model was coupled to calculate the internal gas-liquid two-phase flow field under the design conditions of the centrifugal pump,and the Proudman broadband sound source model was used to analyze the sound source strength within the pump.The noise characteristics under gas-liquid two-phase flow and the effect of inlet gas volume fraction on internal noise were systematically examined.The research results indicate that the main noise sources come from non-uniform gas-liquid two-phase flow and the dynamic and static interference between the impeller and the baffle.As the import gas content increases,the intensity of noise sources caused by uneven flow significantly increases.When the imported gas content is low,the main frequency of the pump noise is concentrated near the blade frequency.The increase in imported gas content leads to a gradual increase in noise energy.The total sound pressure level of each monitoring point inside the snail shell is inversely proportional to the cross-sectional area.When the inlet gas content is 5%,as the cross-sectional area increases,the total sound pressure level of each monitoring point decreases by 1.26%,1.28%,1.82%,and 2.02%,respectively.The high sound pressure level area is concentrated in the spiral section of the volute and the outlet area of the impeller near the tongue,and an increase in the inlet air content will lead to an increase in the total sound pressure level inside the pump.
