Abstract

Based on the night light data of DMSP-OLS/NPP-VIIRS and the data of the Energy Consumption Statistical Yearbook,the total energy carbon emissions in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River from 2005 to 2019 are simulated.Methods such as global spatial autocorrelation analysis,high and low cluster analysis,and local spatial autocorrelation analysis are adopted.Analyze the spatio-temporal evolution characteristics of energy carbon emissions in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River.The results show that there is a strong correlation between energy carbon emissions and the total value of nighttime lighting in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River.The R2 values are all above 0.8,the average relative error is 1.49%,and the simulation accuracy is good.From 2005 to 2019,the total energy carbon emissions in the study area showed an overall upward trend.Jiangsu Province had the highest energy carbon emissions,followed by Zhejiang Province.The energy carbon emissions in the study area show a significant spatial positive correlation.Spatially,the overall energy carbon emissions in Jiangsu Province,Zhejiang Province and Shanghai Municipality are relatively high,and some provincial capital cities also have relatively high carbon emissions.Jiangxi Province has the lowest total energy carbon emissions.
