阿蒙森海冰架前缘深层水热含量季节变化的影响因素
Factors influencing seasonal variations of deep water heat content in the calving front of the Amundsen Sea ice shelf

Abstract
Studying the seasonal variations in the heat content of the deep water(depth:>300 m)in the calving front of the Amundsen Sea ice shelves is vital for understanding the seasonal variations in the bottom melt-ing rate of the ice shelves in this region.This understanding further contributes to exploration of the rapid destabilization phenomenon currently occurring in the West Antarctic ice sheet.In this study,the GLORYS12V1 reanalysis dataset was used to analyze the seasonal variations in the heat content of the deep water in the calving front of the Amundsen Sea ice shelves,including the Thwaites ice shelf,Pine Island ice shelf,and Dotson ice shelf.The results of the study revealed the following.(1)The heat content of the deep water in the calving front of the Amundsen Sea ice shelves is higher in spring and summer,and lower in au-tumn and winter.(2)The variations in the heat content of the deep water in the front of the Dotson ice shelf are driven mainly by changes in the thickness of the thermocline(Circumpolar Deep Water thickness)caused by the Ekman suction process.(3)No relationship was found between thermocline depth changes and cu-mulative Ekman suction in the front of the Pine Island and Thwaites ice shelves,suggesting that Ekman suc-tion might not be the dominant factor,but that changes in density might be caused by poleward flow of the Circumpolar Deep Water.关键词
