Abstract

In China's coastal regions,thick marine clay layers are widespread,featuring high compressibility,low strength,and poor engineering properties.Prestressed high-strength concrete(PHC)pipe piles are highly applicable in soft ground treatment in coastal areas.Studying the bearing characteristics of PHC pipe piles in soft soil foundations holds great significance.Using a chemical company's building foundation in Panjin,Liaon-ing Province as an example,the numerical model of PHC pipe piles was established by using the Midas GTS fi-nite element analysis software.By adjusting parameters such as pile length and diameter,the effects on pile de-formation and load transfer were studied.It is found that with the increase of pile length,the ultimate bearing capacity of PHC pipe piles increases stepwise,but the increase rate gradually decreases.When the pile diame-ter increases from 0.5 m to 0.6 m,the bearing capacity increases by 7.7%,and further increasing the pile di-ameter has no significant effect.Considering economic and practical factors,it is recommended to optimize the pile foundation design parameters.For this working condition,a pile length of 20 to 24 m and a pile diameter of 0.5 to 0.6 m are suggested.
