Overview on the characteristics of the Arctic atmospheric boundary layer
摘要
Abstract
The Arctic is one of the important cold sources of earth's climate system,and its regional response and global feedback to climate change have become the focus of international research.Therefore,studying the Arctic atmospheric boundary layer is important not only as a key component of polar regional climate re-search,but also because of its important role in the interaction between the underlying surface(i.e.,ice and sea)and the atmosphere.This paper provides an overview of the progress of Chinese and international re-search on the characteristics of the Arctic atmospheric boundary layer.It summarizes the research content on the four main characteristics of the Arctic atmospheric boundary layer(i.e.,altitude,temperature inversion,inverse humidity,and the low-level jet stream),explores the three most important factors affecting the changes in Arctic boundary layer characteristics(i.e.,sea ice,cloud,and the underlying surface),and dis-cusses the interaction and comprehensive influence of the structure of the atmospheric boundary layer and atmospheric environment.Additionally,it also identifies problems currently affecting the study of the polar atmospheric boundary layer,and proposes some important research directions that require urgent attention in the future.关键词
