Risk Assessment of Water Ingress into Pressure Relief Valve during Vehicle Wading Based on SPH Method

Abstract
The SPH method was used to analyze the pressure relief valve of an SUV during wading to address the risk of water ingress into pressure relief valves in that process.Using AVL PreonLab,a sim-ulation model of the vehicle wading process was built to analyze the flow field distribution around the vehicle body and the water ingress trajectory into the pressure relief valve under the conditions of high-speed wading in shallow water and low-speed wading in deep water.Subsequently,a water management solution that involves sealing part of the rear wheel housings and adding drainage holes to the under-body protection plates was proposed.The simulation results show that the proposed solution achieves the desired objectives.关键词
