Abstract

Objective:To compare the therapeutic efficacy of robot-assisted minimally invasive esophagectomy(RAMIE)versus video-assisted minimally invasive esophagectomy(VAMIE)in esophageal cancer patients who underwent neoadjuvant immunotherapy combined with chemotherapy.Methods:Clinical data from esophageal cancer patients who underwent RAMIE or VAMIE following neoadjuvant therapy combined with chemotherapy were retrospectively analyzed.Operative time,postoperative complication rates(particularly pulmonary inflammation),and overall prognosis were evaluated.Results:The RAMIE group showed a longer operative time than the VAMIE group,though the difference was not statistically significant.The overall postoperative complication rate was lower in the RAMIE group than that in the VAMIE group,with a significantly reduced incidence of pulmonary inflammation(P=0.020).No significant difference was observed in survival outcomes between the two groups.Conclusion:For esophageal cancer patients received neoadjuvant immunotherapy combining with chemotherapy,RAMIE is a safe and feasible minimally invasive approach,which has a lower postoperative complication rate but comparable survival benefits compared to VAMIE,particularly in pulmonary inflammation.
