Abstract

Objective:To summarize the initial experience of robot-assisted pediatric pancreatic tumor resection and to conduct a related literature review.Methods:4 children who underwent robot-assisted pancreatic tumor resection at the Department of Pediatric Surgery of the Affiliated Hospital of Guizhou Medical University from June 2021 to January 2023 were enrolled.The basic data,clinical indicators and postoperative results of the children were collected and analyzed retrospectively.Literature was searched in PubMed,CNKI,Wanfang,and VIP databases using the keywords"机器人""胰腺肿瘤""儿童""robot""pancreatic tumor"and"children".9 articles were finally included based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria.Results:All surgeries were successfully completed without conversion to open laparotomy.The operative times were 395 min,360 min,320 min,and 175 min,with the intraoperative blood loss of 50 mL,120 mL,120 mL,and 15 mL,along with the postoperative hospitalization time of 10 d,11 d,13 d,and 8 d,respectively.No postoperative complications were found.Postoperative pathology confirmed low-grade malignant pancreatic solid pseudopapillary tumors in all 4 children.Follow-up for over 18 months showed no tumor recurrence.According to the literature review,9 cases were included,5 cases of which were pancreatic solid pseudopapillary tumors and 4 were insulinomas.Operative times ranged from 65 min to 480 min,intraoperative blood loss ranged from 5 mL to 10 mL,and postoperative hospital stays ranged from 6 d to 19 d.2 patients experienced delayed gastric emptying and intestinal obstruction postoperatively.Conclusion:Robot-assisted pediatric pancreatic tumor resection is safe and feasible.
