Age Estimation and Growth History Analysis of Hippophae rhamnoides subsp.yunnanensis Rousi in Jinling Town,Banbar County,Xizang,China

Abstract
[Objective]Investigate and understand the precise age,growth history,and factors influencing trees of Hippophae rhamnoides subsp.yunnanensis Rousi.[Method]This study employed dendrochrono-logy to assess the age and growth history of 27 individuals of H.rhamnoides subsp.yunnanensis Rousi.[Results]1)The average diameter at breast height(DBH)of H.rhamnoides subsp.yunnanensis Rousi in-dividuals across three sampling sites was 53.1 cm,86.1 cm,and 42.8 cm,respectively;2)The average ra-dial growth rates at these sites were 1.9 mm·a-1,1.6 mm·a-1,and 1.1 mm·a-1,corresponding to average ages of 140 years,250 years,and 190 years,respectively;3)Radial growth of H.rhamnoides subsp.yun-nanensis Rousi exhibited varying responses to climate factors across the sampling sites.Sites 1 and 2 showed positive correlations with precipitation and July temperatures,while site 3 was primarily influenced by July temperatures.Conversely,August temperatures constrained growth across all sites.[Conclusion]The H.rhamnoides subsp.yunnanensis Rousi individuals surveyed in Jinling Town are estimated to be as old as 250 years,and potentially even older when considering individual mortality and population dynam-ics.Furthermore,results indicate a deceleration in radial growth since the 1970s,likely attributed to rising regional temperatures.These findings are crucial for assessing the ecological and cultural significance of H.rhamnoides subsp.yunnanensis Rousi in Jinling Town.They provide key data for a comprehensive census and documentation of these ancient trees,and emphasizing the need for their conservation.关键词
