Abstract
Urbanization,a necessary path to modernization,plays a significant role in promoting the stable and orderly development of the economy and society,building a new development pattern,and advancing common prosperity.China has continued to advance the process of new urbanization in recent years,but it still faces many problems and chal-lenges.As a new driving force for China's economic development,the digital economy provides important support for economic transformation,upgrading,and high-quality de-velopment.Based on the panel data of 31 provinces(autonomous regions and municipali-ties directly under the Central Government)in China from 2012 to 2022 as research sam-ples,this paper builds a regression model for empirical testing to delve into the impact of the digital economy on new urbanization.The research results show that:first,the digital economy has a significant positive impact on the development of new urbanization;sec-ond,it promotes new urbanization through industrial structure upgrading and rural finan-cial development;third,its impact on new urbanization represents regional heterogeneity,with a significantly greater positive impact on new urbanization in western regions than in eastern and central regions.关键词
