Abstract

The low earth orbit(LEO)satellite Internet-of-things(IoT)can provide wider coverage and support a lager amount of concurrent access terminals.However,the common shared channel of LEO sat-ellites still uses the Zadoff-Chu(ZC)preambles specified in the non-terrestrial network(NTN)system and moves at a high speed,which brings significant problems of access contenting and delay.In this pa-per,a novel preamble sequence named as the ZGC set is proposed by multiplying the traditional ZC and Gold sequences element by element.A brief analysis disposes that the capacity of ZGC is enlarged by the square of the length of ZC,and even by over 10 k at least in theory for a typical preamble period with 139.In addition,this paper presents some evaluation parameters for preamble design,including periodic correlation,peak-to-average ratio(PAR),cubic metric(CM),and carrier frequency offset(CFO)corre-lation.The performance of ZGC is compared with ZC,Gold and the existing improve versions.A multi-channel slotted Aloha model is employed to numerically simulate the access delay of multi-users due to contention.The results show that the preamble capacity of the proposed ZGC is significantly increased in comparison with that of ZC,the average access delay is reduced,and the CFO immunity is enhanced in large.
