Abstract
Objective:To measure matrix metalloproteinase-12(MMP12),S100 calcium binding protein A7(S100A7),and cluster of differentiation 44(CD44)in serum of erosive oral lichen planus(OLP),and to discuss their value in evaluating the degree of damage.Methods:From October 2019 to August 2024,83 patients with erosive OLP who received treatment were designated as monitored group.They were assigned into the mild to moderate erosion group of 43 cases and the severe erosion group of 40 cases complying with degree of damage.Another 87 non erosive OLP patients were designated as control group.ELISA method was preformed to detect serum MMP12,S100A7,and CD44.Spearman correlation was used to discuss the relationship between serum MMP12,S100A7,CD44 and clinical sign scores.Logistic regression was used to dis-cuss the influencing factors of severe erosive OLP.ROC was used to analyze the evaluation value of serum MMP 12,S100A7,and CD44 for severe erosive OLP.Results:The monitored group had prominently higher clinical sign score and serum MMP12,S100A7,and CD44 than the control group(P<0.05).Spearman correlation revealed that serum MMP12,S100A7,and CD44 were positively correlated with clinical sign score(r=0.433,0.555,0.443,P<0.001 for all).The severe erosion group had significantly higher serum MMP12,S100A7,and CD44 than the mild to moderate erosion group(P<0.05).Logistic analysis found that MMP12,S100A7,and CD44 were influencing factors for severe erosive OLP(P<0.05).ROC results found that the AUC of serum MMP12,S100A7,and CD44 in evaluating severe erosive OLP was 0.800,0.803,and 0.792,with optimal cutoff values of 11.44 ng/mL,61.15 ng/mL,and 0.57 ng/mL,respectively.The AUC of the combined evalua-tion of the three factors for severe erosive OLP was 0.917,which was significantly higher than the single evaluation of the three factors(Zcombination-MMP12=2.067,P=0.039;Zcombination-S100A7=1.984,P=0.047;Zcombination-CD44=2.144,P=0.032).Con-clusion:Serum MMP12,S100A7,and CD44 in patients with erosive OLP are prominently elevated and correlated with clinical sign score.These three levels may serve as potential biomarkers for evaluating the degree of damage in erosive OLP.关键词
