X-band dual polarization weather radar MaX-PoI data analysis of hail microphysical processes in Weining County

Abstract
The article selects 34 hail cloud units and 26 available hail data observed by the X-band dual polarization weather radar in Weining Yi,Hui,and Miao Autonomous County(referred to as"Weining County")in 2022 for analysis,focusing on the structural characteristics,polarization parameters,and phase distribution characteristics of convective units.By analyzing and comparing with the actual situation,it is concluded that the typical characteristic quantities of convective cell radar echoes are basically consistent.The recognition effects of reflectivity factor,differential reflectivity,and correlation coefficient on meteorological echoes and non meteorological echoes are tested.The accumulated water content zone is mainly distributed within a range of±2.0 km above the 0℃ layer.When the radar echo intensity of convective cells develops from 45 dBZ to above 55 dBZ,hail clouds have the characteristics of rapid development and long duration.The X-band dual polarization weather radar can effectively reflect the types of precipitation particles and conforms to the characteristics of phase distribution,but the transformation of precipitation phase particles in the critical transition zone should be considered.The duration of convective cells and the distribution of accumulated water content zones in Weining County are not conducive to the formation of hail.When the top height of the strong center echo breaks through the-30℃ layer,large hail will appear.关键词
