Determination of the Dynamic Residue Characteristics of Chlorfenapyr in Hainan Field Peppers via QuEChERS-GC-MS

Abstract

Residual determination of chlorfenapyr in pepper was performed via the QuEChERS gas chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry(GC‒MS‒MS/MS)method.The residue behavior of chlorfenapyr in peppers sampled from Hainan fields was evaluated.Sample preparation of pepper samples included extraction with acetonitrile,purification by QuEChERS,and detection by GC‒MS/MS with a matrix external standard method for quantification.The residue behavior of chlorfenapyr on peppers was analyzed via regular picking from fields.At 0.01 to 0.15 mg·kg‒1 levels,the recoveries in pepper ranged from 97.5%to 108.1%,and the relative standard deviations ranged from 1.9%to 3.1%.The limit of quantification(LOQ)was 0.003 mg·kg‒1 in pepper.Dynamic degradation tests in pepper revealed that the degradation followed first-order reaction ki-netics.The half-life T1/2 was 3.5 d.After 18 days of application,the degradation rate of chlorfenapyr in pepper reached 100%.This test method is economical,simple,fast,and accords with the demands of residue analysis of chlorfenapyr in pepper.The degradation rate of chlorfenapyr in pepper is fast,and it is a pesticide that is prone to degradation.At present,there is no maximum chlorfenapyr residue limit for pepper in China.The results will provide a basis for the safe use of chlorfenapyr pes-ticides and offer technical support for the limit standard and the export quality of chlorfenapyr in peppers.
