珊瑚礁陡变地形波浪增水试验研究
Experimental investigation on wave setup over a steeply sloping fringing reef

Abstract
When waves propagate over a steeply sloping fringing reef,they exhibit distinct transformations compared to those observed in gently sloping topographies.This paper conducted flume experiments to investigate the effects of incident wave height,period,and water depth on the variations of wave height and setup over the reef.The results show that the wave height over the reef flat exhibits an initial increase and subsequently remaining constant with the increase of incident wave height,while the setup increases monotonously with the increase of incident wave height.The setup initially increases,but subsequently decreases as the period lengthens.Additionally,as the water depth of the reef flat increases,the wave height also increases.Similarly,the setup emerges an initial increase,followed by a decrease.This paper proposed a dimensionless formulation to describe the relationship between the setup and submerged depth of the reef flat.The new formulation can be applied to a wider range compared to existed formulations by comparing with experimental results.关键词
