Risk assessment and mitigation strategies for floating transportation of immersed tunnel elements in complex marine environments

Abstract
The floating transportation technology of immersed tunnel elements under complex marine conditions is investigated through the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link Project,with a focus on ensuring safety and efficiency under challenges of strong currents and climatic variability.A comprehensive risk analysis is conducted by adopting the sinking-floating construction method and the LEC(Likelihood,Exposure,Consequence)technique,while advanced technologies including GPS-RTK and inertial navigation system(INS)are integrated to achieve precise positioning and real-time monitoring.The stability and safety of operations are enhanced through optimized tugboat formation design.Results indicate that high-precision monitoring systems significantly improve positioning accuracy,ensuring tunnel elements reach predetermined targets with minimal deviation.High-risk sources are controlled via LEC-based risk assessment,with proactive safeguards established for operational continuity.By combining technical optimization,risk management,and real-time monitoring,the safety,precision,and efficiency of immersed tunnel transportation are improved,providing critical technical references for future large-scale marine engineering projects.关键词
