基于多子束拍频叠加的集束偏振动态调控技术OA
Dynamic Polarization Schemes Based on the Beat Superposition of Multi-Beamlets within a Laser Quad
在高功率激光装置中,为抑制以背向受激散射为代表的激光等离子体不稳定性,提出多种基于多子束拍频叠加的集束偏振动态调控技术.其基本原理为:利用激光集束内多个子束的干涉叠加效应,结合对子束频谱、相位谱和偏振等多参量的调控,使得叠加光场的偏振态产生快速变化.根据对子束频谱、相位谱和偏振调控方式的差异,可分为频谱相同但相位谱各异的互补型光谱角色散位相调制子束叠加方案、反向旋转位相调制子束叠加方案、非同源光谱非相干宽带子束叠加方案,以及频谱各异的多色光谱非相干宽带子束叠加方案、多色时间位相调制子束叠加方案.结果表明,利用频谱相同但相位谱各异的正交偏振多子束的叠加效应,可获得皮秒、甚至亚皮秒量级的偏振动态调控,偏振变化时间尺度由单子束带宽决定.利用频谱各异、正交偏振的多色子束叠加实现的偏振动态调控,其叠加光场的偏振变化时间尺度则由束间频差和子束数目决定,可在不降低靶面光场调控效果的情况下,极大降低对单子束带宽的要求.
The dynamic polarization schemes based on the beat superposition of multi-beamlets were proposed to suppress the growth of laser-plasma instabilities(LPIs),such as backward stimulated scattering.The basic principle is to utilize the beat superpo-sotion of multiple beamlets within the laser quad,combined with independent control of the beamlets'amplitude spectra,phase spectra and polarization,to randomize the spatiotemporal distribution of the polarization for the superimposed laser field,including the superpo-sition of complementary smoothing by spectral dispersion phase modulated beamlets,counter-rotating phase modulated beamlets,non-homologous spectral incoherent broadband sub-beams,multi-spectral incoherent broadband sub-beams with different spectra,and multi-spectral time-phase modulation sub-beams.The results show that,using the superposition effects of multiple beamlets with identi-cal amplitude spectra but different phase spectra and orthogonal polarization,polarization dynamic control on the order of picoseconds or even sub-picoseconds can be achieved,whose time scale of the polarization variation is determined by the bandwidth of a single beam-let.Further,by using the superposition of multi-color beamlets with different amplitude spectra and orthogonal polarization,the time scale for the polarization variation of the superimposed laser field is determined by the frequency shift between the beamlets and the number of the beamlets,which can significantly relax the bandwidth requirements of a single beamlet without degrading the depolarizing and smoothing performance of the laser field on the target plane,providing a theoretical reference for comprehensive dynamic control of target-field bandwidth,polarization and intensity aimed at LPIs suppression.
