Abstract
The tradition of"Shousu"(celebrating Su Shi's birthday)can be traced back to the Song Dynasty and had already reached a considerable scale by the Qing Dynasty.In the first half of the 20th century,the rapid development of Chinese newspapers and periodicals featured numerous reports on these"Shousu"gatherings,revealing distinct cultural dis-semination characteristics and the transformations of the era.Around 1919,the traditional Shousu gatherings maintained strong continuity,while new media emerged as a platform for publishing related poetry and event announcements,high-lighting their immediacy.During 1936-1937,coinciding with the 900th anniversary of Dongpo's birth,newspapers and pe-riodicals transcended regional and group boundaries,expanding the scale and impact of the celebrations to unprecedented levels.From the full-scale outbreak of the War of Resistance against Japan to 1949,despite wartime turmoil,"Shousu"commemorative activities persisted,with Dongpo's loyal and patriotic ideals becoming integral to the national spirit.关键词
