摘要

Abstract

With the rapid social and economic development in the Yangtze River Basin,polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)caused by human activities have gradually accumulated in environmental media such as water bodies,sediments,and aerosols,resulting in increasing environmental pollution and posing harm to the surrounding ecological environment and human health.To investigate the occurrence characteristics,sources,and ecological risks of PAHs in river sediments of typical agricultural areas in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River,surface sediments of rivers in Yongchuan District,Chongqing,are selected as the research objects.High-performance liquid chromatography is used to detect the concentration of 16 PAHs in the sediments,and methods such as characteristic ratio analysis,principal component analysis,effect interval values,and benzo[a]pyrene toxic equivalency quotient(TEQBaP)are employed for source apportionment and ecological risk assessment.The results show that:①The level of PAHs pollution in urban river segments is significantly higher than that in agricultural river segments.②Combustion of biomass,coal,and liquid fossil fuels is identified as the main source of PAHs in this region.③All individual PAHs exceed the effect range-low value,and more than half of them exceed the effect range-median value,posing a considerable ecological risk.The findings of this study provide theoretical guidance and technical support for the pollution control and ecological risk assessment of PAHs in river sediments in agricultural areas of Chongqing and are of significant practical importance for protecting the ecological environment of the Yangtze River Basin.
