Abstract

Addressing the efficient separation of particles in tunnel construction wastewater,this study establishes a particle motion model of a cyclone desander based on the CFD-DPM method.The research systematically analyzes how inlet shape,inlet angle,cone angle,inlet flow velocity,and particle lithology affect the flow field distribution,pressure drop,and particle separation characteristics inside the cyclone desander.Results show that while a circular inlet significantly influences the internal flow field distribution,it has no notable effect on the separation of particles larger than 8 μm.The inlet angle should not exceed 30° to avoid significant reduction in particle separation efficiency.Under varying inlet flow velocities,the cyclone desander demonstrates good impact resistance with minimal fluctuations in separation efficiency.A moderate inlet flow velocity is beneficial for reducing pressure drop while achieving high separation efficiency(>75%).Among the tested materials,particles in wastewater from carbonaceous slate show better removal efficiency compared to mudstone and diorite.
