摘要

Abstract

Study the head and face indices of Chinese ethnic groups according to the seven major geographical regions,and analyze the characteristics of these ethnic groups in head and face indices.The research results showed that,Chinese males are brachycephaly,hypsicephalic,metriocephalic and mesorrhiny,while females are mostly brachycephaly,hypsicephalic,acrocephalic and mesorrhiny.The cephalic index,length-height index of head,lip index and physiognomic index of ear of Chinese ethnic groups are negatively correlated with age,while the transverse frontoparietal index,morphological facial index,transverse cephalo-facial index,vertical cephalo-facial index and nasal index are positively correlated with age.The head and face indices of males and famales are closely related to annual average temperature,annual precipitation,annual light intensity,average altitude and frost free period.There are differences in head and face shapes of the seven major ethnic groups in China,but there are also commonalities.The ethnic groups of East,Northwest,North and Northeast China have high and round heads,narrow faces and thin lips.The ethnic groups of South,Southwest and Central China have low and long heads,wider faces and thicker lips.The Chinese head and face indices are influenced by age,ethnicity and environmental factors.
