西人所编汉籍书目中的《红楼梦》探析
The Exploration and Analysis of Hung Lou Meng in the Catalogue of Chinese Books Compiled by the Westerns

Abstract
Hung Lou Meng,also known as Dream of the Red Chamber,as a representative work of Chinese classical fiction,was introduced to the Western world at an early stage and was subsequently included in Western bibliographies of Chinese books.Western sinologists adopted four main methods in cataloguing the novel,namely,arranging it by subject or literary genre;orde-ring by the initial letter of the book title,author's name,or donor's name;organizing it numerically;and classifying it according to the traditional Chinese four categories of literature(sibu,四部)—Classics(jing经),History(shi史),Philosophy(zi子),and Literature(ji集).In the process of cataloguing,Western scholars also offered insightful interpretations of the work.By in-corporating Hung Lou Meng into bibliographies of Chinese texts,Western sinologists helped to break through the limitations of tra-ditional Chinese views on fiction,elevated the novel's status in literary history,affirmed its literary and artistic value,and facili-tated its dissemination on a global scale.Their work has also provided valuable insights for contemporary research on classical Chinese fiction.关键词
