Abstract
The experiment aimed to explore the effects of supplementation of basic zinc chloride and oregano essential oil on the growth performance,immunity,antioxidant function,and intestinal barrier in weaned piglets.A total of one hundred and twenty 22-day-old 'Duroc × Landrace × Yorkshire' weaned piglets weighing(6.93±0.03)kg were randomly divided into four groups with five replicates and six piglets in each replicate.The experiment lasted for 28 days.The experimental period was from one to 14 days,and the control group(CON group)was fed with basic diet.T1 group was added with 1 500 mg/kg zinc oxide,T2 group was added with 675 mg/kg basic zinc chloride,T3 group was added with 675 mg/kg basic zinc chloride and 500 mg/kg oregano essential oil.The observation period was 15 to 28 days,and the four groups were only fed basic diet.The results showed that on the 28th day of the trial,compared with the CON group,the serum interleukin-10 content and total antioxidant capacity of piglets in the T2 and T3 groups were significantly increased(P＜0.05),and the glutathione peroxidase activity and the mRNA expression level of jejunal mucosal tight junction protein gene were significantly downregulated in the T1 group(P＜0.05).The content of tumor necrosis factor-α and the activity of diamine oxidase were significantly increased(P＜0.05).Compared with T1 group,the glutathione peroxidase activity and total antioxidant capacity in T2 and T3 groups were significantly increased(P＜0.05),the interleukin-1β content,diamine oxidase activity and D-lactic acid content were significantly decreased(P＜0.05),and the mRNA expression level of jejunal mucosal tight junction protein gene was significantly upregulated(P＜0.05).The results show that basic zinc chloride and oregano essential oil can replace high-dose zinc oxide,effectively reduce the intestinal inflammatory response,improve the immune and antioxidant functions,and reduce the rate of diarrhea of weaned piglets.关键词
