Determination and analysis of the contents of four fatty acids in Zanthoxylum bungeanum seed-case and seeds of different origins

Abstract
Objective In this study,31 batches of Zanthoxylum bungeanum(Z.bungeanum)seedcase and 24 batches of Z.bungeanum seeds were selected as the subject.The content differences of four fatty acids,including palmitic acid,oleic acid,linoleic acid and lino-lenic acid in Z.bungeanum seedcase and its seeds were analyzed to evaluate the medicinal quality of Z.bungeanum of different origins.Methods The origin difference and medicinal quality of 31 batches of Z.bungeanum seedcase and 24 batches of seeds were studied through gas chromatography(GC),using boron trifluoride-methanol pre-column derivatization technology,with methyl heptadecanoate as the internal standard material.Results Results showed that there were significant differences in the contents of four fatty acids in the seedcase and seeds of Z.bungeanum of different origins.The total contents of the four fatty acids were the highest in Z.bungeanum seedcase from Henan Province and the seeds from Shaanxi Province.Conclusion The method of fatty acid content determination estab-lished in this paper can provide a basis for the establishment of the quality evaluation system of Z.bungeanum seedcase and seeds.It is suggested to add linolenic acid as the content determination index of Z.bungeanum seedcase and seeds.关键词
