Abstract

Currently,the Global Positioning System(GPS)+BeiDou Satellite Navigation System(BDS)mode is widely adopted for the control network measurement of ultra-long railway tunnels in complex mountainous areas,while engineering applications based solely on BDS are rare.To reduce the dependence on GPS and verify the feasibility of using a single BDS for the control network measurement of ultra-long railway tunnels in complex mountainous areas,satellite positioning data from a 22.9 km-long tunnel control network in the Qinling Mountains along the Xi'an-Shiyan High-speed Railway were utilized.Based on a comparative analysis of data quality,baseline processing,network adjustment,and accuracy analysis were conducted using BDS,GPS,and BDS+GPS,respectively.The analysis results showed that in complex mountainous areas with high terrain,dense forests,and satellite signal obstructions,the signal-to-noise ratios of BDS at each frequency point were approximately 45 dB·Hz.Although the pseudorange multipath errors of BDS were slightly larger than those of GPS,they all remained below 0.5 m.BDS showed slightly better data integrity rate and cycle slip ratio than GPS,suggesting that the data quality of BDS was generally comparable to that of GPS.Under the condition where the shortest side length of the orientation side was about 400 m,the use of a single BDS for the control network measurement of ultra-long railway tunnels met the accuracy requirements with the mean square error of azimuth not exceeding 1″ and the relative mean square error of the weakest side length within 1/250 000.The maximum coordinate difference of control points obtained from different constellation modes was 7.1 mm,and the maximum coordinate azimuth difference was 2.06″,indicating reliable results.Therefore,it is feasible to use a single BDS for the control network measurement of ultra-long railway tunnels in complex mountainous areas to reduce the reliance on GPS.
