Abstract

The lead-zinc deposit at Maipin in Mabian County is located in the regional deep fault zone of the Sichuan-Guizhou-Qiangling lead-zinc metallogenic belt.The ore body is vein-like and fills the structural fractures of the Lower Cambrian Qiongzhusi Formation clayey siltstone.It develops along these fractures and intersects obliquely with surrounding rocks while being consistent with the orientation of major faults.Galena is the dominant ore mineral followed by sphalerite and closely associated with fluoritization and silicification alteration.The deposit exhibits good continuity and can reach a medium scale.Additionally,it is associated with fluorite and silver minerals which adds to its high comprehensive mining value.Based on an analysis of geological characteristics combined with controlling factors for mineralization,it is concluded that the Maipin lead-zinc deposit belongs to a medium-low temperature hydrothermal filling vein-type deposit.
