Abstract

Vinyl silicone resin(VMTQ)was synthesized using hexamethyldisiloxane,vinyltrimethoxysilane,and tetraethoxysilane as raw materials,and its structure was characterized.VMTQ was used as a high-temperature-resistant filler to modify boron phenolic resin(BPF).Glass fiber fabric-vinyl silicone resin/boron phenolic resin(GF-VMTQ/BPF)laminates with different VMTQ contents were prepared using a compression molding process,and the effects of VMTQ on the high-temperature resistance,hydrophobic properties,and mechanical properties of BPF or GF-BPF were investigated.The results show that the addition of VMTQ enhances the high-temperature performance of BPF.The static ablation residual rate of 3%VMTQ/BPF at 1 200℃ reaches 56.4%,which is 95.8%higher than that of pure BPF(28.8%).The mass ablation rate of 3%GF-VMTQ/BPF after three minutes of dynamic ablation decreases to 0.002 2 g/s,which is 58.5%lower than 0.005 3 g/s for GF-BPF.The maximum back-face temperature decreases from 690.6℃ for pure GF-BPF to 684.7℃.The addition of VMTQ increases the initial decomposition temperature and carbon residual rate at 800℃(R800)for VMTQ/BPF.The initial decomposition temperature for 3%VMTQ/BPF is 222.4℃,which is 29.2%higher than that of pure BPF 172.1℃,and R800 increases from 39.7%to 58.5%.The incorporation of VMTQ improves the hydrophobic properties and mechanical properties of GF-BPF laminates,with the contact angle of 3%GF-VMTQ/BPF increasing from 111.2° for GF-BPF to 125.4°,and the impact strength increasing from 124.9 kJ/m2 for GF-BPF to 131.7 kJ/m2.The high-temperature-resistant laminates have promising applications in material safety,such as in battery packaging for new energy vehicles.
