Barriers to early mobilization of patients as perceived by ICU nurses:a meta-synthesis of qualitative studies

Abstract
Objective:To systematically integrate the qualitative researches on the barriers to early mobilization of ICU nurses,explore the problems and analyze the reasons in the implementation of early mobilization,and provide evidence-based basis for formulating targeted intervention programs.Methods:The databases of PubMed,Web of Science,Embase,Cochrane Library,CNKI,Wanfang and VIP were searched from the inception to December 31,2024 to collect qualitative studies on early mobilization barriers implemented by ICU nurses.The quality of included studies was evaluated according to JBI Critical Appraisal Tool for qualitative studies in Australia and the results were synthesized.Results:A total of 10 articles were included,which were summarized into 8 categories and synthesized into 3 integrated results including inadequate organizational structure and program standards related to early mobilization,insufficient ability to implement early mobilization and physical and mental burden of ICU nurses facing,lack of patients' cooperation and family support during early activities.Conclusion:There are many barriers to the implementation of early mobilization in ICU nurses.Nursing managers and nursing staff should formulate intervention programs according to the barriers and promote the application of early mobilization in ICU patients.关键词
