摘要

Abstract

In recent years,capacitive deionization(CDI)technology has emerged as a promising technique for seawater desalination and high-salinity wastewater treatment due to its high efficiency,energy-saving benefits,and environmental friendliness.However,CDI technology still faces challenges,including low desalination rates and oxidation/reduction reactions at electrode surfaces,which have hindered its large-scale application.Recent research has focused on developing novel electrode materials and optimizing cell structures to improve performance of CDI units.Notably,membrane-based capacitive deionization(mCDI),which integrates ion-exchange mem-branes with electrodes,has gained attention as a promising approach to mitigate impact of side reactions.This article reviewed advance-ments in cell structures and electrode materials for CDI/mCDI in desalination,explored preparation processes of various electrode mate-rials,and evaluated technical parameters for assessing the operational efficiency of electrosorption units.Additionally,it provided an outlook on future development directions of CDI technology.
