Abstract

The hybrid commutation valve(HCC)based on the fully controlled reverse block integrated gate commutation thyristor(RB-IGCT)device has a high reverse recovery speed,can realize active shutdown,and has the ability to 100%inhibit and resist commutation failures caused by the disturbance at the AC side of the valve.In order to effectively verify the ability of HCC valve to withstand various voltage and current stresses during the recovery period,the research and test verification of transient forward voltage test method for HCC converter valve during the recovery period are of great significance to the development of the valve and subsequent engineering applications.Firstly,this paper analyzes the requirements of transient forward voltage equivalent test during the recovery period of HCC valve,and studies the test method and feasibility.Based on the synthetic test loop platform,the evolution mechanism of the transient forward voltage stress during the recovery period of HCC valve is analyzed,and a new transient forward voltage test method for the recovery period of HCC valve is proposed.Through the combination of theoretical research,electromagnetic transient simulation analysis,and testing,the correctness and feasibility of the test method and control strategy proposed in this paper are proved,which can effectively realize the assessment of the internal/external transient forward voltage stress during the recovery period of HCC valve.The research results of this paper can be used as a theoretical reference for the formulation of HCC valve testing standards and subsequent engineering application valve tests.
