A dataset of habitat survey and evaluation along the mainstream of the Yellow River(2021-2022)

Abstract
This dataset compiles habitat survey and evaluation data collected along the mainstream of the Yellow River,from its source to the estuary,from 2021 to 2022.It encompasses a total of 26 sites and comprises 680 records.The dataset primarily comprises five indicators within river channels(substrate composition,habitat complexity,water quantity,water quality,and intensity of human activities)and five riverbank-related indicators(distribution of large woody debris,stability of riverbanks,coverage of riparian vegetation,changes in riverbank protection structures,and land use types along the riverbanks).The investigators surveyed the habitat indicators of each monitored river section through on-site observation,recording,photography,and drone panoramic imaging,and conducted evaluation and scoring according to the river habitat quality grading standards.A rigorous quality control process was implemented during data collection,including multi-dimensional drone surveys,expert scoring validation,and cross-verification mechanisms to ensure data accuracy and reliability.This dataset can serve as a valuable reference for conducting habitat surveys and evaluations in the Yellow River Basin,thereby providing crucial support for the protection and restoration efforts of large river ecosystems.关键词
