Surface Water Frequency Product of the Tibetan Plateau from 1982 to 2023

Abstract
As the"Water Tower of Asia,"the Tibetan Plateau plays a crucial role in the global water cycle and is a key focus of global change research.This study utilizes a priori knowledge-based rapid surface water extraction algorithm to obtain surface water information from 22261 scenes of Landsat 4,Landsat 5,Landsat 8,and Landsat 9 satellite images taken from 1982 to 2023 to produce a 30-meter resolution surface-water frequency product for the Tibetan Plateau.After data quality assessment,the overall accuracy of the surface water frequency product for the Tibetan Plateau is 91.92%,with a Kappa coefficient of 0.88.This product,offering surface water distribution and frequency information,can serve as fundamental data support for water resource monitoring,ecological environment protection,and climate change research on the Tibetan Plateau.关键词
