Distributed Hierarchical Control of PV System to Provide Multiple-time Scale Voltage Support for DC Microgrid

Abstract
With the increasing penetration of photovoltaic(PV)power generation in DC microgrids,the scale of energy storage systems needs to be expanded accordingly;otherwise,the voltage regulation capability of DC microgrids will not be enough to cope with power disturbances.A new way to solve this problem is to equip PV systems with the ability to provide the auxiliary services of voltage response.To enable multi-timescale voltage response capability in photovoltaic power generation systems,this paper proposes a distributed hierarchical voltage control method with primary and secondary voltage regulation.For primary voltage regulation,the PV converter operates in the voltage support mode,which can adjust the PV output power according to the voltage deviation within a millisecond-level time scale.It has the advantages of fast response and easy implementation.For the secondary voltage regulation,a novel distributed control strategy is proposed.The PV converter operating in the voltage support mode can respond to the reference instructions assigned by the high-level control center within the second-level time scale.The strategy proposed in this article can converge within a fixed time frame and is independent of the initial conditions of the system.Furthermore,this paper also designs an event-triggered mechanism suitable for DC microgrids to reduce the communication pressure between PV converters.Finally,the hardware-in-the-loop real-time simulation based on StarSim verifies the effectiveness and superiority of this method.关键词
