摘要

Abstract

Anthocyanins,a class of polyphenolic pigments widely present in the plant kingdom,are typically absent in tomato(Solanum lycopersicum L.)fruits.Genetic engineering and other breeding methods can be employed to develop anthocyanin-enriched tomato varieties.In recent years,significant advancements had been made in the genetics and regulation of tomato anthocyanins.This paper reviews the biosynthetic pathway of tomato anthocyanins,the genetic localization of anthocyanin-related genes in plants,and the progress in genes editing tomato anthocyanin genes.These studies further elucidate the mechanisms of synthesis and regulation of tomato anthocyanins,providing theoretical support and reference for future research and innovation aimed at enhancing tomato quality through the utilization of anthocyanins.
