Abstract
Objective:To investigate changes in photosynthetic physiological characteristics of Epimedium pubescens(cv.'Guitong Roumao No.1',GR1)under varying light intensities and clarify the adaptability of its photosynthetic system to light intensity and the effect of photoinhibition.Methods:A total of 45 one-year-old GR1 plants were selected.Nine high-density light intensity gradient treatments were established:L1[(12.2±2.5)μmol·m-2·s-1],L2[(18.2±2.5)μmol·m-2·s-1],L3[(36.4±2.5)μmol·m-2·s-1],L4[(54.6±2.5)μmol·m-2·s-1],L5[(72.8±2.5)μmol·m-2·s-1],L6[(91.0±2.5)μmol·m-2·s-1],L7[(109.2±2.5)μmol·m-2·s-1],L8[(127.4±2.5)μmol·m-2·s-1],and L9[(163.0±2.5)μmol·m-2·s-1].At various time points,the relative chlorophyll content(SPAD)and net photosynthetic rate(Pn)of leaves under each treatment were measured.On day 40,the light-response curves were measured using a portable photosynthesis measurement system.The chlorophyll fluorescence parameters and rapid light-response curves were measured by a dual-channel modulated chlorophyll fluorometer.The maximum net photosynthetic rate(Amax),dark respiration rate(Rd),apparent quantum yield(AQY),light saturation point(LSP),and light compensation point(LCP)were calculated using photosynthesis assistant software.Results:The trends of SPAD and Pn of leaves under different light intensities varied.SPAD showed an increasing trend from L1 to L3.When the light intensity increased to L7-L9,the trend first increased and then decreased.Pn showed a slow upward trend under L1 and L2.When the light intensity increased to L7-L9,it showed a trend of first surging and then fluctuating.From L1 to L5,both Amax and AQY increased with increasing light intensity.Compared with treatments under L4 and L5,those under L6-L9 showed significantly decreased AQY,maximum quantum yield of PSⅡ(Fv/Fm),maximum electron transport rate(ETRmax),and effective photochemical quantum yield[Y(Ⅱ)](P<0.05),while the non-photochemical quenching(NPQ)coefficient increased markedly,indicating that the plants experienced obvious photoinhibition.Conclusion:L4 and L5 may be the optimal light intensities for maintaining photosynthetic homeostasis of this variety.L6 represents the threshold for the onset of photoinhibition,which intensifies progressively with further increases in light intensity.关键词
